I think what she was referring to was how the Wonder Woman not fragile like a flower fragile like a bomb shirt is punitive rather than rehabilitative. We put them in jail and forget about them. It costs tons less to rehabilitate than incarcerate. I worked with a teacher whose son worked for them. She did and probably still does lots of volunteer work. It’s an awesome organization! I agree with you to a degree but these people generally don’t trust government institutions. I think that is why Homeboys has helped as many people as they have. They don’t have the fear that the stigma of government can cause. I do believe the government should help fund important resources like Homeboys with a proven record of success. Just my opinion. How could they not when they are able to build so many jails and prisons? They are so damn effective and building jails and prisons why can’t that same money and effort be put in building up the community?
